Burisma Holdings, a leading private gas producer in Ukraine, has been named among the best companies according to Ukraine’s Reputation Management ranking “REPUTATIONAL ACTIVists” done by the “Business” weekly newspaper. Burisma Holdings was ranked second in the “Oil and gas” segment. The companies were assessed based on five key parameters: reputational stability, media activity, innovative approach, image capital and anti-crisis of the year.
The “REPUTATIONAL ACTIVists” Ranking is a way to celebrate companies’ achievements, both domestic businesses and international corporations, as well as to encourage those that are just beginning to realize the importance of reputational assets as a factor in global competitiveness and its business in the country where it is making money.
“We believe that it is time to evaluate who and to what extent has gained public confidence and to define the benefits for a company and the Ukrainian economy as a whole”, said chief editor of the “Business” weekly newspaper lgor Kanevskyi.
According to creators of the “REPUTATIONAL ACTIVists” ranking, in order to prevent a conflict of interests a pool of experts comprised exclusively external specialists: Ukraine’s most reputable media experts, independent industry experts, consulting companies’ representative, investment analysts and representatives of professional public organizations that unite participants of the relevant markets.
The list of jury members evaluating the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine included journalists from such publications as “Zerkalo Nedeli “, “Ukrainska Pravda”, “Forbes Ukraine”, “Interfax” agency, representatives of the World Economy and International Relations Centre, National Academy of Sciences, Energy Strategies Fund, Ukrainian Energy Assembly and other professional market representatives.
According to Burisma Holdings Board Advisor Vadym Pozharskyi, company’s victory in the “REPUTATIONAL ACTIVists” ranking is a logical reflection of integral approach to its image and reputation management. “The external evaluation of our work suggests that Burisma Holdings’s strategy meets market needs as well as best international practices. We are becoming more transparent and understandable to both local and international community, and will continue to move in this direction”, said Vadym Pozharskyi in an interview for “Business” weekly newspaper. According to him, Burisma Holdings’ three key Reputation Management areas are social projects, staff development and active media cooperation.
“It is important to remember that any company has a reputation to uphold, whether it wants it or not. The main task is not to let it be formed spontaneously, and to make sure that society’s attitude toward the company is based on real facts and achievements, results of its professional public activity and transparent, responsible policy towards community, and not speculation, inaccurate facts and distortions”, noted Vadym Pozharskyi.
