Burisma Group attends Ukraine Energy Council and 8th Annual Global Citizen Awards

The international energy group Burisma attended the Atlantic Council’s 2017 Global Citizen Awards Gala in New York.

At the Gala and associated activities, Board Advisor at Burisma Group Vadym Pozharskyi  had the opportunity to discuss with the Special Representative of the U.S. State Department for Ukraine Kurt Volker,  Atlantic Council Executive Vice President Damon Wilson, U.S. General Wesley Clarke, and Distinguished Fellow Ambassador Alexander Vershbow a complex set of issues concerning Ukraine’s energy security and independence, the state of U.S.-E.U. relations, global challenges and security enhancement mechanisms.

This is the Atlantic Council’s 8th annual Global Citizen Awards dinner that recognizes individuals who have made exceptional and distinctive contributions to strengthening the transatlantic relationship. Each year, the event convenes an international audience of influential government, business, military, media, and civil society leaders in New York City.

This year, the Atlantic Council held its annual Global Citizen Awards in New York on September 19 to honor three exceptional individuals, whose extraordinary leadership has been invaluable in addressing global challenges and fostering unity, including the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, the South Korean President HE Moon Zhe Ying and Chinese pianist, teacher and philanthropist Lang Lang.

The Atlantic Council’s Global Citizen Awards dinner recognizes global leaders who have made exceptional and distinctive economic, political, and cultural contributions toward strengthening international relationships.

Previous honorees include former Israeli President Shimon Peres; actor, film director, and producer Robert DeNiro; Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto; European Central Bank President Mario Draghi;Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi; then-US Senator John Kerry; former UN High Commissioner for Refugees Sadako Ogata; former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri  (posthumously); musician Quincy Jones; and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
